Byron Bay Wedding Celebrant - Michelle Shannon
Love is Magical
Love is Magical
As your celebrant I want you to feel excited about your celebration.
I want to capture those honest, sometimes teary moments that take you and your
guests on a journey they will never forget and lead you into the 'party of all parties'.
Most of all I want you to have fun!

So this is me
So this is me
Most days I'm usually in the office writing, reading and filing all the
important legal stuff required for weddings or I'm out walking to the lighthouse
and enjoying a coffee with clients and friends.
But on the weekends or to be honest any day of the week now I am lucky enough to meet incredible people from all walks of life and help them celebrate one of the best days of their life. Hopefully I will also get to meet you to.
Throughout your ceremony I want you to be close to one another - hold hands
or put your arm around each other (have a sneaky kiss if you wish)
and really enjoy the moment.

And this is my little family
And this is my little family
I actually have a bigger version as well, but my 3 grown up step-kids are a little camera shy - so it's just my hubby Mark and my lovely daughter GG who now live at home and she keeps us both busy with dancing, singing and all sorts of concerts and fun things that she loves to do..
I first fell in love with becoming a celebrant when I went to a wedding 15 years ago in Perth, where the celebrant made everyone feel welcome, relaxed and really included us in the ceremony - 'I loved it' and knew I that I could bring that
same kind of feeling to Byron Bay and beyond.

How it all works
We need to say Hi
Let's meet in person if at all possible, say hello on the phone, by email or maybe even a skype call if you wish. You can Email me here
Official paperwork and writing the ceremony
The next step is the initial paperwork and then as we get closer to the wedding we start working on your ceremony. I will help you each step of the way and I will also give you resources to help you out like - vow examples.
Day before the wedding we catch up for a rehearsal
I like to meet you, make sure that all the paperwork is ready to go for the big day and to also walk you and those involved in the wedding ceremony through the flow of the day so that everyone feels confident and relaxed.
On the Day
I will arrive 30 mins prior to the ceremony so I can say hello to the groom and those that may be involved in the wedding and make sure we are all working as a team keeping everyone relaxed, happy and ready to celebrate while we wait for the brides arrival.
And then once you are 'happily married' I will give you both a big hug and ride off into the wilderness and leave you all to celebrate. Easy, Right!
Where will I be standing during your ceremony?
Close by - not far from you - but just out of your photo.
I don't stand in the middle of you both as I want you to have connection -
to put your arms around each other if you wish. Have a sneaky kiss of two - why not! It your day after all and I want you to feel relaxed and enjoy the moment.
Plus you don't really need me in all of your beautiful photos!!

Hi Michelle - We just wanted to say our most sincere thank you for being our celebrant on our big day. We received so many comments that the wedding was the best our guests have ever been to, and they especially loved our ceremony and mentioned what a wonderful celebrant you were who really set the mood.
I still remember just before the ceremony you came upstairs to see how I was,
which was when I was a nervous wreck, you grabbed my hands and looked me in the eye and said the kindest words. I don't remember what you said, but sometimes your actions really do speak louder than words and just being there holding my hands allowed me to compose myself again, it was exactly what I needed.
Anyway, we just wanted to really thank you again, our wedding wouldn't have been the same without you. All the best Emmy and Henry XX
